Paul Lepage,Reason and B.S. #17

It’s been quite a while since the name of Maine’s venomous governor showed up in this blog. That was partly because I don’t like to acknowledge his existence by naming him here, but also because he hadn’t said or done too many ridiculous things lately…

Until recently, when someone (one of those loathsome media sharks, I believe) informed him that a state lawmaker had labeled him a “racist.” Well, the governor, the man who said President Obama hates white people and blamed drug crime in Maine almost entirely on minority men from the south (like Massachusetts) who come to Vacationland to sell drugs, then rape and impregnate White women on their way out, that governor went into a blind rage at hearing that someone thought he was racist.

He then called said lawmaker and left him a voice mail message in which he thrice called the man a “cocksucker” and challenged him to a duel, in which he promised to shoot the legislator squarely between the eyes.

Sooooo…maybe he’s racist and maybe he isn’t…but I think the assessment of some observers that he’s mentally deranged and unfit to serve out his term as governor of Maine goes right to the heart of the matter. But the last I read, no one is going to try to take him out on that count. Too bad, because the weight of the evidence (all of the things he had said and done since he was first elected governor by far less that 50% of Mainers) certainly points to an individual who suffers from impulse control problems, at the very least. If anyone comes up with a plan to take him down due to psychological deficiencies, you’ve got my vote. And at no extra charge, speaking of “reason” and “violence,” here’s Bumper Sticker #17:

THE LOGIC OF VIOLENCE DOES NOT STAND UP TO THE LIGHT OF REASON. –Michael N. Nagler, 2004

We’re left with voter retribution next November as our only recourse since the legislature was too spineless to take any action. All but four Republican members of the state legislature voted against special session (or chose not to register a vote on the issue). Vote the bums out, I say! Get someone in there with some backbone for LePages final two years.

Amen. And good luck to all the good people in Maine.
