I wish Kim Davis would read this

I tried to explain why allowing a Kentucky county clerk to break the law simply because she has a religious difference of opinion is simply wrong in a democratic society. And several people responded with even better thoughts than I could muster. Then New Yorker published this piece online. I urge you to read it. I couldn’t have said it as well if I’d gone through thirty drafts. Please give it a read: http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/all-scientists-should-be-militant-atheists?mbid=nl_090915_Daily_Photo&CNDID=38396266&spMailingID=8053786&spUserID=MTA3NTM4MzI2NzAxS0&spJobID=760982932&spReportId=NzYwOTgyOTMyS0

Three cheers for America and the First Amendment.

But…she won’t. I have a lot of experience with evangelical christians (lack of capitalization intentional). Confirmation bias is their way of life and existence. Over the years, I’ve come to pity them. They’ve made their world so very small that they genuinely can’t see that the have become that which they most loathe … an insular group of religious zealots who believe that a theocracy is the only way to true national salvation.
